Teflon and Xylan

Fluoropolymer coatings such as Teflon™ and Xylan® are normally applied to components where a corrosion-resistant, non-stick, dry film lubricant is required. Each of these brands represents a family of high-performance coatings that are designed to address various engineering needs, often in extreme environments. Coatings are chosen based on required tolerances, expected load, temperature, chemical exposure, and other significant factors. Different colors are available for aesthetic and identification considerations.

IMF-3

The IMF-3 coating system is a unique patented coating procedure developed by Industrial Metal Finishing Company. The system is designed to impart excellent lubricity, maximum corrosion resistance, adequate abrasion resistance, and long wear life to coated parts. IMF-3 provides predictable torque values with a low co-efficient of friction, mitigating potential damage caused by over-torqueing. Both the system basecoat and topcoat can be custom-tailored to specific design needs.

Molybdenum Disulfide (Moly)

Progressive and innovative engineers will find answers to many of their lubricating problems through the use of these anti-friction coatings. The IMF-1 system uses dry lubricants to offer a combination of desirable properties, including high bearing strength and lubricity that withstand extreme heat and excessive cold. The IMF-2 multilayer thermosetting coating system is designed to impart lubricity to coated parts as well as provide good corrosion resistance in a wide range of severe environments and bearing loads up to 80,000 P.S.I.

Painting

Industrial Metal Finishing provides impact-resistant, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant paint, as well as painting for improving the cosmetic appearance of any part. We offer Mil Spec and Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) painting services. CARC paint is specified for use on tactical military equipment such as ground, aviation, munitions, and related support equipment. The paint withstands the harsh chemicals used in the decontamination process of this equipment.
