Our History
In 1941, William (Bill) Jacob Loeser joined the Navy, where he was soon sent to Georgia Tech and just two years later earned an Aeronautical Engineering degree, in 1943.After repairing and maintaining planes in the Pacific during World War II, Bill returned to Houston to design rigs and drilling wells for an oil service company. In 1950, leveraging his knowledge and experience, Bill founded Industrial Metal Finishing. Bill’s first customer was IBM, refurbishing typewriters by applying the company’s classic wrinkle paint finish.
When the list of customers grew, IMF moved to its current location in Houston. The company has continued to expand through the decades, most recently adding a shipping and receiving warehouse.
Today, Industrial Metal Finishing is a second and third generation owned and operated business. The company is both an innovator and leader in the application of industrial metal finishes. With over 50,000 square feet of workspace in seven buildings, IMF has the capacity to offer a wide range of metal finishes and services.
